Can we bring our own mallet?
Most certainly. They just need to be carried in an appropriate case and stored in your cabin.
What form of Croquet do we play?
All games are Golf Croquet
How many players do you take away?
We take away a maximum of 32 players
Do you allow non-playing partners?
Of course, but if they join us at the clubs, they pay the full price.
What about my handicap?
We recognise your handicap and try to match you with appropriate players. The result of the tournament does not affect your handicap.
What about pre & post cruise accommodation?
We can assist you with pre & post cruise accommodation if required.
The 2026 Croquet Sailors Cup Cruise Ítinerary
Today we will board the Crown Princess at the International Cruise Terminal, Brisbane and settle into our cabins. Once settled in and we have set sail join Brian, Elaine & Craig for a welcome drink as we cross Moreton Bay and head through the northern channel into the Tasman Sea.
While we cross the Tasman Sea, you will be able to enjoy the many facilities and activities available aboard the Crown Princess. Have a swim in on of the pools, enjoy drink on the deck or take in a show in the theatre.
This morning there will be a player briefing. This will be held in the wheelhouse bar and will be perfect opportunity for you to meet the rest of the players.
Docking at Queens Wharf at 0630 we will disembark at 0800 and transfer across to the North Shore Croquet Club located in the picturesque harbourside suburb of Devonport. We will enjoy full days play before transferring back to the ship via the Devonport Ferry Terminal for those who might like to take the ferry back to Central Auckland across the beautiful harbour.
This morning please be ready to disembark the ship promptly at 0830 (as soon as the gangway is secured). We will have a one hour drive to Rotorua travelling through the towering hedges that protect the orchards of one New Zealand’s most famous exports – the Kiwi Fruit. The highway climbs through the forests of Pine & Kauri before we arrive in Rotorua. We will have a full days play at the Rotorua Croquet Club.
After sailing overnight from Tauranga, we dock in Napier. This is a rest day for you to enjoy this beautifully restored art deco style city.
Arriving in Wellington we will disembark and head to the lower station of the Wellington Cable Car. You will enjoy a spectacular ride to the Kelburn (top) station where you will rejoin the coach for the short ride around to the Kelburn Croquet Club. We will return to the ship via national rose garden and the New Zealand Parliamentary Buildings.
Disembarking from the Crown Princess at Lyttleton Harbour we will travel via one of the Lyttleton Tunnel – which at nearly 2km long is second longest road tunnel in New Zealand, into Christchurch. We will have full days play at the United Croquet Club before returning to the ship.
Docking at Port Chalmers we will disembark at 0800 for a drive around to Larnach Castle and then onto Forbury Croquet Club for our final days play. At the conclusion of play we will return to the Crown Princess.
This morning, we will enter the Fiordland coast of New Zealand and will enjoy a scenic sail through Doubtful and Milford Sounds. A wonderful spot to enjoy a hot chocolate on the deck surrounded by towering peaks of New Zealand’s southern alps.
This morning you will be free to enjoy the facilities of the Crown Princess. This afternoon please join us in the Wheelhouse for our trophy presentation by senior members of the ships crew.
Today we cross the Tasman Sea back to Brisbane.
Today we will arrive back in Brisbane and it is time to say farewell to our new friends. For guests with an flight connections we will have a transfer to both the international & domestic terminal at Brisbane Airport. Please do not book flights prior to 12 noon.
Terms and Conditions
- Joining & Leaving the cruise.
- Your Travel Expert can arrange flights to & from Brisbane to join the cruise as well as pre & post cruise accommodation and transfers to/from the Ship.
- Guests wishing to leave Brisbane immediately after the cruise should not book flights departing prior to 12 noon on the return to Brisbane. Your Travel Expert will not be held responsible for missing flights booked earlier than 12 noon.
- Foreign guests will require a multi entry Australian and New Zealand electronic travel authorities.
- Inclusions
- The Cruise Cost includes not only all meals, accommodation, entertainment whilst aboard ship but also transfers to/from the various croquet clubs, morning & afternoon teas, lunch, club hire & green fees at all clubs we will play. And the services of an experienced tour manager.
- Mobility
- All participants in this cruise must be able to comfortably walk 100m unassisted (walking stick is acceptable) and be able to get on and off a normal coach without assistance.
- Form of Play & number of games
- Due to the limited time available all games will be the golf format. All players will be expected to play 3 games on playing days.
- Player Standards
- Players of all levels are welcome to participate, and senior players are encouraged to assist & coach. Criticism & bullying of a player’s ability will not be tolerated. The purpose of this tour is fun, friendship and camaraderie.
- Itinerary
- While every effort is made to operate this tour as per the advised schedule, sometimes circumstances such as bad weather, natural disaster or medical emergency can cause the programme to be altered with little or no notice.
- Terms & Conditions
- This cruise and tour are sold under the terms & conditions of Princess Cruises. For full details please ask your consultant.
- Covid
- This tour is being operated under the current Australian & New Zealand government covid guidelines, which are subject to change from time to time. Any participant who tests positive will be required to isolate aboard ship and obey the instructions of the ships medical personal.
- Currently there no requirements for cruise guests to be vaccinated against covid. However, it is strongly recommended that you consider being vaccinated and to be up to date with influenza, hepatitis & tetanus vaccinations.
- There are currently no vaccination requirements for international visitors to either Australia or New Zealand.
- Travel Insurance
- All passengers are required to have suitable travel insurance which will cover emergency evacuation and hospital coverage. Australian Government Medicare does not apply to shipboard medical care.
